Grain

Hey guys! I’ve decided that I’m going to be posting every other day now that I am working on a couple of different projects. I do miss writing every night though, it allows me to get out some of my negativity.

This week has been absolutely dragging on. I swear, it’s like when I need to be busy, we’re so slow. I wish that I could have put in my two days notice rather than my two weeks. It’s hard to believe that I won’t be there after next Friday, because I’m still so freakin miserable.

That leads me to the point that I want to make tonight. There are going to be people that you meet in your life that make you feel like a failure. Especially if they can sense that you have potential, they’re going to try to drag you down. Some people want you to do well enough to survive, but not better than them.

Perhaps these people will even make you second guess yourself, make you wonder if they’re right. You may feel like you can’t do anything, like you’re just one person – and a useless one at that. These sort of people have the ability to make you feel like a grain of sand along a never-ending beach.

But they’re just bitter, sad, stubborn people. If you believe in yourself, then everything that they say is wrong. If you believe them, then everything that they say is right. They have no right to tell you who you are, or what you’re doing with your life. It is your life after all, right?

To quote Taylor Swift, “All you’ll ever be is mean, and a liar, and pathetic, and alone in life and mean”. That is true about some people. They’re just negative because they never did what they wanted to do and now they feel like it’s too late. It’s never too late, by the way. Sometimes, when people hit 40, they act like they’re already dead and buried when it comes to their dreams. IT IS NOT EVER TOO LATE TO LIVE YOUR LIFE.

All that I’m saying is that you should never take what other people say too seriously. Especially if it is clearly just a negative bias. So what, I’m quitting? Heck YEAH I’m quitting, you talk to me like I’m your dog and I’ve got bigger dreams than that. People only have as much power as you give them.

Hopefully your week is going better than mine, but if not, soak in this post and finish up this week with your confidence restored.

  1. Good on you! Your life is your choice and people sometimes forget that free will and choice is the most valuable thing any of us possess! So you quit the hell outta that job and you go bound off into the sunset with rainbows and pots of gold. Let them wallow in their thunderstorm without you! Loved reading this. Much love and luck E x
