So, this post was not expected. All day long I told myself that I wouldn’t post today because I needed a break. I had a pretty rough day at work, and then I went out of town to see my niece and nephew. They are 4 & 1, so it can be a tiring experience. But, something was just calling on me to share this with you guys, so I’m going to.
If you want to see real results, in any aspect of your life, you have to work. I don’t mean to just work when you are motivated, confident, energized and excited about the future. It is so easy to sit down and write a post, or work on a video when I am inspired. But, does that mean that I should only pursue my dreams when I feel like it?
NO! There will be times in your life when you are overwhelmed, pissed off, stressed out, over-worked and just tired to your very core. Everyone experiences emotions like these, but you have to learn to cope with them in productive ways. You can’t just give up on your future because you’ve had a bad day.
You have to work even when you don’t feel like it. Even when you don’t feel confident. Even when you don’t feel motivated. Even when you don’t feel inspired. Even when you don’t have any energy left. You have to push harder. This is when the most important progress is going to be made; the changing of your mental state.
I’ll relate this to running, since that is my workout of choice. If you don’t run often and you go for a casual jog, you may only run one mile. You’ll probably be exhausted afterwards and you may even feel like you needed to stop sooner. Eventually, if you keep at it every day, you will be able to run two miles, then three, then four…you get the point. But, you have to make the decision to run another mile after you’re already exhausted and you just want to lay down. It would be so easy to give into the little voice telling you that you deserve a break, and you can’t go on. However, if you decide to keep working, you’ll be able to have another mile under your belt. The most important changes occur after you’ve been working for a while.
So, that is what I wanted to share with you. I woke up at 5:30am and have losing motivation all day long. Yet, here I am writing another post. After this, I’m going to work on another project and then fall into a blissful sleep until I have to do it all again tomorrow.
P.S. – I have an exciting video to share with you guys soon. Stay tuned for that next week!
